Every Friday evening during term time (except concert dates) 7.15 - 9.15 pm. (Younger choir members finish at 8.30 pm.)
Well respected Youth Concert Band and Choir, based in Castleford. Established in 1966, the group of approximately 40 young people aged between 8 and 25 perform regular concerts throughout Yorkshire.

The Nomad Drummers meet every Tuesday
Cathedral Centre, 8-10 Westmorland Street, Wakefield WF1 1PJ. Next to The Raven pub, centrally located just a few minutes walk from train stations and bus station.
Classes are year round and we welcome all abilities.

8pm - 9pm Improvers
The Nomad Drummers learn traditional West African Drumming in a relaxed environment and are the longest-running African drumming community group in the area. Workshops are fun and friendly.

Six classical music concerts are organised each year at the High School’s Jubilee Hall in Margaret Street, Wakefield.
Funded by its members (season ticket holders) and patrons, the committee of the Concert Society arranges for public concerts of classical music.

An entirely volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to presenting the best in live modern and contemporary jazz from local musicians (North of England), national musicians (most London-based) and international musicians (from USA and Europe).We have a 27 year history and a national reputation for excellence in our varied presentations which exclude Traditional (New Orleans) Jazz and wholly improvised free music.
